  • Aprašymas: Mikes, who is responsible for the sanitation of a big city, is a ruthless extortionist who presses his wife Anna to give him a divorce so that he can marry his mistress. His cruelty and insensitivity have made her life a living hell. Anna doesn’t want to give him a divorce because she is carrying his child, and she is afraid of social consequences. One night, she is attacked by a man who tries to rape her, but she is saved by a passer-by, Alexis. This assault causes her to lose her child, which makes her distance herself from Mikes. After much vacillating, she seeks redemption in the arms of Alexis. This love, however, drags her down to utter destruction.
